When Your Child Says "I Didn't Ask to Be Born"

Image
The most difficult statement that a child may say to his/her parents that a parent cannot satisfactorily justify is when the child says,"I didn't ask to be born." How do you counter this statement? What supporting evidence can you present to your child to argue against this claim?  Why is this statement uttered? Most times when this statement of the fact that he/she didn't ask to be born is uttered is when something unfortunate or bad happens or when the child doesn't want to do something that the parents instruct him/her to do. In my humble opinion, I believe that this statement is the ultimate form of ungratefulness that can be uttered. It not only disregards the hardship that the parents endure in raising the child, the hardship that the mother faced when pregnant with the child and all the hardships that is mentioned in the Quran in Surah 46 Al-Ahqaf  Ayat 15 : وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ إِحْسَـٰنًا ۖ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرْهًۭا وَوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْ

He still hasn't been acquitted which means that there is still no verdict to his case. He may be found guilty or not guilty when the case is brought back to court. He can still be charged for the same crime. This latest development in Zahid Hamidi's case doesn't indicate that he's innocent or guilty of the charges yet. Why did the AGC halt Zahid Hamidi's graft trial? The prosecution has applied for a Discharge Not Amounting to Acquittal (DNAA) and to stop the trial for 11 reasons. The defence pushed for a direct acquittal which was rightfully rejected and the court has granted the DNAA. If you're curious to know what the 11 reasons are, please read from t

In a news report by Free Malaysia Today (FMT), the activist group, the End Detention Network which claims to speak for foreign children in detention facilities considers the new Baitul Mahabbah shelter a de facto detention center. Is Politics Ever Good At All?

Image

To a regular man or woman, politics is equivalent to corruption, abuse of power, money laundering besides other malpractices. Politics has acquired quite a negative connotation, that possibly even trustworthy politicians are viewed with distrust.
